Who loves Emeralds!!!

aka.. the story of two burs and a saw blade and a big old pair of brass cahoona's...

Thought I would create a post of my emerald jobs.. jewellers love to see these.. everyone breathes a sigh of relief that it didn't cross his bench...

This was a handmake and set by moi... sweating blood...

ANd this one was a recent head remake and reset.. not sure why I keep punishing myself and setting these myself...

And this is the part that gives setters the sweaty nightmares....
(ever hear them green stones go Keerunch!)

And this a was quicky sizing, I happened to have the images to show somone else the soldering goop i use..

  2. Hi Chris,
I'd love to know what's that goop made up of? Is it some commercial product or some type of home bew. I've always used an old can of tuna with tissue soaked in water. Then inbed the ring in that, then solder.
    Cheers,
    Simon.

  3. Hi Simon, the goop is graphite chips with a mix of 80% water and 20% auflux. Works pretty good.

  4. Hi Chris,

Why do you add the auflux?

    Regards,
